Launch of the Ninth Cycle of the Emergency Cash Transfer Project, funded by UNICEF and the World Bank through Al-Amal Microfinance Bank

On January 14, 2021, at the Al-Hasbah branch of the Yemen Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the ninth cycle of the Emergency Cash Transfer Project, funded by UNICEF and the World Bank through Al-Amal Microfinance Bank, was launched. The launch was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development, Dr. Hussein Maqbouli; Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Obaid Salem bin Dhabia; Secretary-General of the Local Council of the Capital Secretariat, Amin Jumaan; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemen Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Hussein Fadhl Harhara; Executive Director of Al-Amal Microfinance Bank, Mohammed Saleh Al-La’i; Head of the International Cooperation Department at the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Maneh Al-Asal; and Executive Director of the Social Welfare Fund, Amir Ali Al-Warith. Also present were the Head of the Social Affairs Committee in the Capital Secretariat, Hamoud Al-Naqeeb; Assistant Undersecretary for Social Affairs, Abdul Wahab Sharaf Al-Din; Director of the Social Welfare Fund in the Capital Secretariat, Jamila Al-Matari; and a number of specialists from the Social Welfare Fund. Al Amal Microfinance Bank and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Hussein Fadl, expressed his hope for the bank's cooperation and the provision of all services that ensure the implementation of emergency transfers through the bank's branches in a way that serves the beneficiaries, as this will be done in accordance with the mechanisms and conditions of the UNICEF organization, and with care to organize disbursement in a safe manner and to take preventive health measures.
